Social media is a powerful tool when used effectively for businesses and individuals alike – it provides an online, easily accessible presence and a platform to share information on. Unfortunately, if your name is Kim Kardashian, you may find that flaunting your wealth on social media can lead to being robbed of over ten million dollars at gunpoint from a Paris hotel. Not exactly a ringing endorsement of social media.
Of course, this won’t ever be a cause for concern for any of our B2B clients, but the overall message is clear – be extremely careful when using social media. Simply re-tweeting an industry article without taking the time to check it aligns with your core business messaging could lead to you advocating a rival company or product.
Carefully constructed
At IBA, we produce ‘tweet sheets’ for our clients to directly counter lax social media practices. We take a mixture of industry news and discussion, and blend it with tweets about client products and services that address current business demands. Of course, this is always reinforced by engagement with partners’ social media accounts and known industry influencers.
And our social media expertise has led to new business. We have just signed up an international client to create content and animate regional accounts across over a dozen countries to drive social media engagement and enhance their existing presence.
This month
IBA has been hard at work for our other clients across September, keeping them front and center in their target media. We’ve been driving coverage of our Aerospace & Defence client in the Asia-Pacific region, placing by-lined thought leadership articles and contributions to feature opportunities in Tier 1 defence publications. This has been carefully timed to coincide with an upcoming A&D event in Bangkok – IBA has secured the attendance of nearly a dozen influential journalists.
We’ve also gained strong coverage for our payments processing client in the U.S. over September, with a survey on payment practices in the healthcare sector achieving coverage in top business and payments publications.
And finally, IBA is hiring! So if you know someone who is looking to start a career in international PR with the PR Agency that’s on fire at the moment, why not put them in touch with us?
