Heatwaves and headlines – IBA secures the perfect PR glow this May
The IBA office has been making sure its clients get a good tan with more red-hot PR activity as the event flame keeps on roaring, hot topics heat up global coverage, and we add a little glow to pre-existing content to keep the content lifecycle burning.
London, U.K. may have seen record temperatures during May, but it wasn’t the only place feeling the heat this month. PR activity at the IBA office has been hot this month, and our American-style fridge-freezer ice machine has become our new best friend to keep us cool!
So, to avoid getting burned but keeping up the suntan, let’s crack on with what we’ve been up to this month.
Another month, another chance to flex our event muscles
Avid readers of our monthly roundups will remember last month was an event extravaganza, and May has followed the same trajectory. This month we’ve been turning up the heat for our enterprise technology client as they gear up to their Nashville, U.S. customer event, home of music and honky-tonks, and for a few days a host of top industry journalist registrants, from the Service, Energy, Utilities, & Resources, Manufacturing, Construction & Engineering, and Aerospace & Defense sectors. It’s all a go as we lock in their media agendas, travel arrangements, and secure 1-2-1 interviews.
The event fun didn’t stop there. Our Aerospace & Defense client is off to Canada’s leading defense, security, and emerging technology event. We’ve been busy with pre-event build-up across their business unit and executive social media channel creating the hype, and guess what? We have also lined up our client’s SMEs to speak to two Canadian top-tier defense journalists.
On a more personal note, I’m off to my first industry event, Smart Manufacturing Week in Birmingham, alongside two of my IBA colleagues to catch up with a few of our clients in the manufacturing sector and grab a front-row seat at some of the exciting keynote sessions – so better go grab my clipboard and pen!
Keeping the content lifecycle burning
At IBA we have a saying “Write once, repurpose many times”. The aim of the PR and Marketing game is to build client brand equity and repurposing content is the perfect PR tool to do so! Previously we’ve spoken about our success in repurposing content into different formats whether that be an article, blog, or whitepaper but this month we’ve shaken things up!
We’ve tried a slightly different angle for our connected worker platform client, as we took an existing article on Gen AI in manufacturing which gained eight placements, and tweaked it for one of their key industry subsectors – food manufacturing to make the content more tailored to the food industry. The message is the same, only the words changed! Hot off the press, and it’s already a big hitter with North American Food and Beverage publications, gaining six placements, and the fire’s only just been lit!
Hot topics are a hit with industry media
A top skill for any PR and marketing professional is keeping track of what’s going on in the world, whether that be in the news, politics, or industry, and we like to call this hot topic tracking. The perfect tool to help our clients strengthen their market position with relevant and timely hot topics.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will know about the recent political uncertainty and volatility for global supply chains caused by the rapidly changing trade tariffs, presenting the perfect opportunity for our data movement client to flex their expertise with a timely Q&A comment. It was a quick turnaround but well worth the effort with placements across North America and the DACH and Benelux regions.
The PR fire must rage on
With it only set to get even hotter as we head into the summer months in the Northern Hemisphere, there’s work to be done, and even more timely client coverage ahead of the inevitable PR Summer Silly Season!
