Q2 at IBA marks the start of a new work experience intern. I am Lois, and have joined the team, eager to learn the diverse trade of B2B PR through IBA’s unique strategies. After reviewing the first quarter, I have definitely arrived at the right place and time to hit the ground running!

As lockdown lifts and we gather in the pubs and bars debuting our ‘boredom’ purchases in public, here at IBA we are looking back at the end of a momentous Q1 and are keen to keep the buzz going.

Moving forward – sustainably and horizontally

Earth Day created a lot of media buzz and pledges, so it was nice to be part of it with our enterprise technology client who launched a powerful sustainability campaign, pledging to recognize and achieve their sustainability goals for the coming years. It’s good to see sustainability policies becoming a must-have for industries across the globe but, in my first few weeks here at IBA, I’m beginning to understand the complexities for business of being able to deliver on them.

So, it has been an eyeopener for me to read up on the importance of cloud as a flexible and sustainable delivery tool for businesses – reducing the need for cumbersome and resource-heavy on-premises deployments. For the same client we are looking to improve traction in their U.S. horizontal B2B technology media, with thought leadership pieces explaining how cloud and the technologies behind open APIs (yes, I now know that that means!) can help business become agile. As part of this, the team lined up a broadcast interview with influential technology channel for the client’s North American CTO. Our positionings highlight the fact that rapid business changes and cloud push are not only due to the pandemic, but the worrying pressure on global supply chains and of course, the growing adoption of sustainability targets.

Redefining the customer experience

The Pitch&Place team has focused their Q2 drafting and pitching efforts on helping one of our clients break into some new vertical markets – hey, who said Brexit and the pandemic would hold back business? Their head of CRM is being positioned as a thought leader in using technology to enhance customer engagement by using data to anticipate customer needs in property management, while another top executive is spearheading our client’s push into the rental and leasing market. With much of the leg work already completed, the content is ready to be pitched into to new vertical markets. So all that’s left is to watch this space!

D-Day for some – but our client is more than ready

Although the pandemic may have been top of the agenda this year in the mainstream media, the EU has been busy setting new regulations in the medical field which has kept us busy. Our client providing label and artwork management technology has been working flat out to ensure medical device companies are compliant with new EU regulations – we have been using technical white papers and thought leadership articles within top-tier industry publications to position our client as a key market leader as deadline day approaches.

Forward thinking

It’s been an impressive start to the year, and one that I’m delighted to have been given the chance to report on it here. We are now ready to glide into the new quarter optimistically with client campaigns well underway, a beer in hand and the new work experience intern ready to make a mark on the industry!
